Click here to see an album of our trip to Vegas over the weekend. We had a fantastic time and did our part to cultivate the economy by donating money to several casinos.

A busy Sunday
Today we hosted a party for our nephew Keith's 16th birthday. Keith is an excellent guitar player, so I used that for the inspiration for the cake.
Then this evening we put one of Brian's Christmas gifts to use. I got him a telescope, but it's just been ridiculously cold in the evenings. So we pushed up to the sliding glass door and then put the camera over the lense piece and got these great pics of the moon.

A day with some big-wigs
Last Friday I attended two events and got to rub elbows with some major political players.
Here I am with one of our current Congressmen and incoming Senator Tom Udall.
And here I am with our next Governor, current Lt. Governor Diane Denish.

Happy holidays
Brian's holiday party was this weekend, and it was fun to get all dressed up. We had a really nice time. I've gotten to know so many of his co-workers over the last year, so it was like going to my own holiday party.

Thanksgiving weekend
Mom and Laura made it out here to Albuquerque for thanksgiving, which made it three turkey days in a row that we were all together. It was so great to have them here. Marilyn and Lee hosted the dinner, and then on Saturday we all went to the Festival of Trees and River of Lights.

Our first halloween in the house
We got about 40 kids last night and had a good time passing out candy. Unfortunately I didn't make it too long without breaking my goal of eating no halloween candy this year. Oh well.
As soon as we got home, we worked to get the house ready. I'm so happy with how the pumpkins ended up looking out front.
We also learned that we should always feel safe in our house because we have a ninja living next door:

Pumpkin carving
Last night we finally carved our pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch. Those stinkers are huge! We had forgotten how heavy they are.
I'm so happy with how they came out. Unfortunately, I don't have any in-the-moment pics because I left my camera sitting at work.
